The Santa Cruz County offers many hidden gems that might be hiding right beneath your nose.  Main Street Garden Cafe is one of those gems…  The produce is organically grown in their lovely garden.  Their fish are sourced locally and sustainably and the meats are pasture raised.  They offer top notch local wines from an assortment of awesome vineyards.  The tranquility of the outside patio makes you feel as if you were in the south of France…  The food is so fresh and delicious your taste buds will be thanking you for a week and leave you craving for more.  It’s a little on the pricey side but well worth it!  Grab some family and friends and turn and average evening into a magical one at Main Street Garden Cafe! This restaurant is located in what used to be a large home. It sits on a large piece of property where you can wander around and check out the gardens and chicken coop. The wait staff and kitchen staff are knowledgeable about the dishes being served and how they are prepared. This place has an unusual menu, and it is worth checking out on line. Their house made salami is so delicious, you will want to return just for that. My hubby and I ordered the braised pork shoulder, and sheeps milk gnocchi with lamb ragu. Hands down it was the best meal I have had in a restaurant in a long time. We had a nice walk in the garden, and chatted with the pizza chef who was outside manning the wood fired pizza oven. The chef also sold us some salami to take home. Not sure if they do that often, but we sure felt lucky. Hmmm…need to go again soon! Trip Advisor 10/7/11

Sensuous, complex, yet completely intelligible—somehow Briske can micro-design a dish and never allow the flavors to grow muddy.  Summer itself seems to ripen on Briske’s current menu, and with prices ranging from $15 organic pizzas to entrees in the $18-$23 range, Main Street Garden Café is already becoming more than an inquiring diner’s playground—it’s becoming a serious habit.   SC Weekly  8/05/10

It’s hard to imagine a prettier setting for a meal than Main Street Garden. For one thing, this cozy cottage – home to Theo’s restaurant for almost 30 years – offers pastoral outdoor seating overlooking a garden, wood-fired oven and wide swath of lush lawn.   SC Sentinel  2/24/10

Main Street Garden is proving to be a popular dinner destination as well.  The dizzying aroma of garlic wafted from my own 11-inch wood-fired pizza.  Dried herbs and a chiffonade with fresh basil were added before serving. The underside of the thin organic crust was cooked perfectly and even the thicker rim was enjoyably crisp.   SC Good Times  1/06/10

Better yet, the tasty and healthy fare includes a setting that once came with a much higher price tag.  Even a day after a rain, it is easy to understand why the new owners fell in love with the outdoor spaces. A cozy patio courtyard sits in front of what was once a neighborhood home, and a second arbor-covered patio in back overlooks a peaceful oasis of gardens, citrus trees and fountains.   Mid-Town Post  1/04/10
